I am super happy to update with news that my upcoming full length record MIMOSA DRIVE is a few sessions away from being complete. This record has exceeded all of my expectations and has been an unforgettable journey with unforgettable people. I’ve been working intimately with some of my musical heroes in a small studio I built with my own hands and it blows my mind every time we get together. Currently, the release date for MIMOSA DRIVE is up in the air, but one of the singles from the record titled “Give Me Time” is coming next month! My latest single “Unprecedented Times” released on November 30th exclusively on Bandcamp! “Unprecedented Times” was recorded at Blackbird Studio back in the summer of 2020 and completed at Mud Pan Studio in 2021. The band features Robert Kearns (bass) and Fred Eltringham (drums) from Sheryl Crow and John Henry Trinko on keys! The single will be available for streaming everywhere December 14th. At the end of 2020 I shared my plans to release a new single every month of 2021. Releasing a song a month is harder than expected, but I have stayed the course. I am happy to share the single number four “Don’t Come Easy” released on April 27th! On March 19th, the great Audley Freed and I made an Edison cylinder recording with The Blackbird Academy at Blackbird Studio! We did an acoustic performance of my soon to be released song “Keep It In High Gear”. This was a super cool experience! “Juanita” is a song from the New Shackle Island EP and the official video for the song will be premiering on Roots Radio WMOT’s Liner Notes feature with host Ana Lee on November 20th. The video stars Chelsea McGinty and was directed by Amanda Young. A link to WMOT’s Liner Notes will be posted here on the 20th—the video will also be available here at www.fostermcginty.com.

In November Foster McGinty will be interviewed by Ana Lee for WMOT’s Liner Notes. Liner Notes is published on the WMOT website and offers a place for music lovers to catch up on album releases, live video streams, and behind the scenes news. Foster will answer questions from Ana Lee and talk about his upcoming album Mimosa Drive. The recorded is slated to release in late 2020.

‘Karma’, a song from the upcoming record Mimosa Drive, is being featured on Roots Radio WMOT in Nashville 9/6 and 9/7! The song will be on a program hosted by Ana Lee called The Local Brew. It will air at 7 a.m Sunday morning, and again at 7 p.m Monday night. ‘Karma’ features Lillie Mae on fiddle! You can tune in online or on the radio in Nashville at 89.5.

I have been working hard behind the scenes on a new record and I cannot wait to share two songs from it very soon. I have had a blast recording and I have had the pleasure of collaborating with some great Nashville based artists/players. “Karma” features Thirdman Records artist, Lillie Mae, on fiddle, and “Unprecedented Times” has Robert Kearns (Sheryl Crow, Lynyrd Skynyrd, The Bottle Rockets) playing bass and singing harmony. The holiday season is here and 2019 is coming to a close. It’s been a great year—hope it has for you too! I look forward to releasing a new record in 2020 and scheduling more shows.
